Antique COLT NEW LINE .38 Etched Panel Revolver
Scarce, Potent Conceal & Carry Made in 1884
Here we present an antique Colt New Line .38 Revolver, made in 1884 in Hartford, Connecticut. Only about 5,500 were produced. This revolver was designed to be a small but potent self-defense revolver for stowing in one’s pocket in the 19th Century. Spur Trigger “Suicide Special” manufacture was fierce during this time, and Colt struggled to compete against the countless small shops making very similar, less expensive revolvers, though not necessarily of the same quality. The Colt remained a steady, reliable force in firearms for much longer than the rest.
The overall condition is very good. The nickel finish has been redone is 98% intact. The markings are mostly legible. The hard rubber grips are in great shape. The bore is clean with good rifling. The action on this revolver is excellent.
