Early, Made in 1894 in a Great Hunting Cartridge!
Here we present a J.M. Marlin Model 1893 Rifle in .38-55 WCF, made in 1894 in New Haven, Connecticut. Marlin was one of Winchester’s biggest competitors for the lever action market in the late-19th and into the 20th Century, lasting the test of time along with primary competitor Winchester. The Model 1893 represents Marlin’s first smokeless powder lever action rifle. It features a solid top frame with side ejection and a smooth action. The barrel is a medium weight octagonal of 28 inches, chambered for the capable .38-55 WCF. This rifle is in great shape and remains a classic!
The overall condition is near fine. 80% of the original blue remains. The case colors are mostly silvered. The markings are clear. The walnut stock shows use and remains in great shape. The bore is in very good condition with strong rifling. The action is excellent.
