BUCHEL “TELL SYSTEM” 22 Rimfire Single Shot FALLING BLOCK Target Pistol C&R
GERMAN Single Shot Target Pistol with Heavy Barrel
Here we present a C&R Ernst Friedrich Büchel “Tell System” Single Shot Target Pistol, made circa the early 20th century in Thüringen, Germany. Buchel was a German gunsmith whose business was founded in 1887 and continued through the 1930s. The business is best known for a series of target rifles and Free Pistols made under the “Luna” brand name. This “Tell System” pistol is a falling block action operated by the ring lever at the base of the pistol grip. This one features a wooden target grip that is set up for a left-handed shooter.
The overall condition is very good. The action is strong. The bore is bright and reflective. The grips are configured for a left-handed shooter. The stocks are in great shape aside from a small crack on the left side of the front of the fore end. There is a decorative horn grip cap that is broken on the bottom of the grip. “E. TROTT” is engraved on the forearm placard. “DRGM” can be seen on the top of the bullhorn-like sights. This piece is a unique and effective falling block target shooter with a neat backstrap lever!
