CASED, ENGRAVED Belgian Antique TARGET Pistol Muzzleloading Set Trigger
Mid-19th Century Percussion Pistol
Here we present a Cased & Engraved Belgian Antique Percussion Belt Pistol, made circa the mid-1800s in Liege. Liege has long been a manufacturing center for the world’s arms trade. This pistol was built as a target gun. It features a Damascus twist octagonal barrel that measures about .475 inches from land to land. It comes with a single set trigger that makes the mechanism very crisp and light.
The wooden case is very attractive and the interior is lined in velvet. The case is lockable and comes with a key as well. There is a good supply of .45 caliber balls, patches, and other accoutrements. This pistol has clearly been used in the not so distant past.
The overall condition is very good. The action is strong. The bore is in nice shape, fairly bright with deep rifling. Traditional floral engraving adorns most metal parts. Nice twist pattern on the barrel. The front sight is a later piece. The stock is in great shape, free of cracks, and only having minimal dings. The case is in great shape. This is the kind of set that will look good whether you are on the range or in the study.
Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction.
