FINE Scarce SWISS Bern Model 1906 LUGER Pistol C&R
Swiss Military & Police Sidearm Made in Bern
Here we present a Swiss Waffenfabrik Bern Model 1906 Luger Pistol, made circa 1906 at the Waffenfabrik arsenal in Bern, Switzerland. The total number of these pistols, made for the Swiss military and police, was 17,864. Swiss craftsmanship is on full display with this pistol. While not being involved in a war for a very long time, the Swiss certainly like to keep their troops well-armed.
The toggle is marked with a Swiss Cross over “WAFFENFABRIK/BERN”. Each part of the pistol is numbered in the military fashion. The front of the frame is marked with a large “P50” under the serial number, an indicator that this pistol was retired from official military or police service and sold on the commercial market in 1950. The left side of the chamber bears the inspector mark of Colonel Muhlemann. The brown leather holster is in very good condition and marked “C.E. RUEGSEGGER/BERN/04”. Magazine is not numbered and has a brown plastic base.
The overall condition is fine. The original blue finish is 95%. Straw colors are 90%. The markings are clear and legible. Numbers match. The bore is sharp and bright. The grips are in great shape and are numbered to the gun as well. The action on this pistol is excellent.
