Scarce DWM 1900 “American Eagle” LUGER Pistol
Made Circa 1900 in Berlin for American Export
Here we present a DWM Model 1900 American Eagle Luger Semi-Automatic Pistol made circa 1900 in Berlin, Germany. This Luger pistol was made for the American market as DWM was trying to introduce it to the world, especially to foreign militaries. It was well-received. This American Eagle model features a federal eagle on the top of the chamber. It comes chambered in the original Luger cartridge, called .30 Luger in the U.S., known as 7.65x21mm Luger in Europe. It features a slender, tapered barrel, early style toggle knobs, and a grips safety.
This one is marked “DWM” on top of the toggle. The front of the toggle has an American Eagle emblem on it. It is marked for export with “GERMANY” on the front of the frame. The pistol is numbered in the commercial manner.
The overall condition is very good. The original blue finish is about 60% intact. The markings are clear and legible. The numbers match. The bore is bright with strong rifling. The walnut grips are in good condition. The action on this pistol is excellent.
