“TWIN BARREL JUSTICE” Remington DOUBLE DERINGER
Hidden Book-Cased REMINGTON Pistol!
Here we present a very nice Remington Double Deringer Type III, made circa 1912-1935 in .41 Rimfire. The double Deringer was made by Remington from 1866 to 1935—a testament to the design as well as the commercial market for such a trusty and concealable firearm. The Deringer was sturdily built and simple in operation. A lever on the right side of the frame swings so that the barrels may open upward on a hinge for loading and unloading. There is a single firing pin that moves from one barrel to another with each cock of the hammer. This was meant to be a compact pocket gun.
This pistol has a 6-pointed star on the frame that designates that this was factory refurbished in some manner. It comes in a really neat, lockable case that looks like a book and is titled “TWIN BARREL JUSTICE” by “REMINGTON”. The exterior of the box is decorated like a book, complete with gold page edges. The interior of the case has 19th Century style end pages with bright colors and the gun sits in green felt. There are places for 6 .41 rimfire cartridges. Includes the key to lock and unlock the box. This would be one neat piece to put in the library or on your desk at the office!
The overall condition is very fine. This one was finished in was looks like a gold/silver combination. The markings are clear. The mother of pearl grips are in fine shape. The bores are bright and sharp. The action is excellent. This is something unique that would make a fantastic display!
