WEIMAR-ERA DWM 1920 LUGER Pistol C&R w Holster
Interwar Luger Pistol with Military Numbering
Here we present a German DWM (Deutsche Waffen-und Munitionsfabriken) 1920 Commercial Luger Pistol, made between the two World Wars, circa the 1920s. After the Great War, the victors imposed limits on German arms production and the economy was in tatters. To stay afloat financially, DWM assembled pistols from their stock of military pistol parts so they could export them to places like the US.
The top of the toggle is marked “DWM” The left side of the frame and underneath the barrel are marked with German Police proofs “CROWN/N”. Military style serial numbers indicate that this was made from “new old stock” from military pistols from WWI. Comes in a “Geco” marked black leather holster in fine condition.
The overall condition is fine. The blue finish is about 90% remaining. The markings are clear and legible. The serial numbers match with the exception of the magazine, which is German military marked from the years preceding WWII. The stocks are in good shape. The bore is clean. The action on this pistol is excellent.
