WWII Dated Remington 1903A4 Sniper Rifle w Scope
ORD Dated 12-43 with Weaver J2.5 Scope
Here we present a U.S. Remington Model 1903A4 Sniper Rifle with a Vintage Weaver J2.5 Scope. This rifle has the date “12-43” marked on the barrel near the front sight along with “RA/FLAMING BOMB” the mark of the Ordnance Department. The Model 1903 as an infantry rifle was, of course, adopted by the US in 1903. It was issued en mass during World War I through World War II. Midway through WWII, the Ordnance Department contracted Remington to make a number of these 1903A4s in sniper format.
This rifle falls into the correct serial number range of those Remington snipers. The chamber markings are also split so that they are legible on either side of the Redfield scope mount. Atop this mount sits a vintage Weaver J2.5 Scope. The scope is small, but clear with fine crosshairs.
The overall condition is very good. The parkerized finish is 75% intact. The markings are clear and legible. The stock is in very good condition having been lightly sanded. The bore is sharp and shiny, fine condition. The action on this rifle is excellent. Here is a very desirable WWII rifle for your collection!
